The Friends of New Lane Play Area group are working in partnership with Sprotbrough & Cusworth Parish Council and Groundwork Dearne Valley to develop an innovative and exciting natural play area for the young people of the Sprotbrough & Cusworth Parish.
On Sunday 28 June The Dell at Hexthorpe Flatts will come alive to the sound of jazz as the Doncaster Youth Stageband entertain the crowds in a free afternoon of music.
World Environment Day was established by the United Nations General Assembly in 1972 to mark the opening of the Stockholm Conference on the Human Environment. Another resolution, adopted by the General Assembly the same day, led to the creation of the UN Environmental Programme (UNEP).
Young People from Herringthorpe Young People's Centre have been working with Groundwork Dearne Valley and Rotherham Children and Young Peoples Service over the last three years to improve their community as part of a Young People Friendly Neighbourhoods Project.
Hexthorpe Flatts is to play host to a programme of free spring and summer events in a bid to reinstate the parks popularity with the local community.
Stainforth Children's Centre are preparing for an upcoming Easter event as part of plans to create their own Wildlife Garden.
A multi-agency tidy up event has been planned along the footpath surrounding Athersley North.
